Benchmarking computers is a tricky business, as the performance depends critically on work load. As the BTI 8000 was a multiprocessor, different system configurations would naturally have very different performance profiles.

Nevertheless, an issue of Communications of the ACM had an article on estimating system performance, based on some design criteria. The article attempted to fit the model to "measured" performance, as if it was a single value. This page offers up that data, including both BTI 5000 and BTI 8000.

I don't have the article so maybe it is explained, but the BTI 8000 configuration is unknown. Also, the figure stated for its cycle time is stated as 200 ns, but that doesn't align with any of the real machine.
